Search Engine Marketing
73Search Engine Marketing and How to get things started!
The hardest part about getting into search engine marketing is to get started.
So before you build a site, think about what is going to be the most targeted keyphrase anybody can possibly type in to turn into a sale for you.
Do not worry about how many people may type it in. Simply think about something that someone who wants exactly what you have to offer would type into Google to get to you.
Start with that term in order to help you get ranked quickly and get some business. SEO is a step by step process and once you are on the way, you will get past your goal and not even know how you have gotten there.
Write your content around that term, so if you for example sell real estate in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, target Santa Teresa, Costa Rica Real Estate before you target ¨Costa Rica Real Estate¨ as targeting that first term is going to help you rise for the harder one by default.
Then keep checking your rankings and most of all your stats.
Your stats will reveal to you which keyterms are worth ranking for.
Do not worry too much about doing things you are not really into doing, so if you happen to love writing, start a blog, if you love to go on forums, be active with your site in your signature and if you´re a Facebook kinda guy, start a group about your site and spend some time promoting it there while playing around and talking to your friends. :)
Marketing online can be fun, just like you should have business cards with your web address and present them to those who might be interested in what you have to offer.
Just do it. Be confident when presenting your business, so make sure that before you go out promoting yourself, that you have a brandable domain name and a logo which powerfully implants the image of your business into the minds of all of those who happend to see it.
You can always hire a marketing firm to give you the extra push, but generally speaking I would recommend to focus on your talents and then go from there.
Be careful with the tricks you may learn about when it comes to rising in the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) as many of them can work today, but get you banned down the line. Good business practice and good promotional practices will earn you the respect of your fellow marketers and even competitors and especially you will be able to sleep well at night knowing that while your business is growing, so is your exposure online.
